HISTORY
The dotron is also a sacred dragon, though in some villages, it was once considered a bad omen. To have one cross your path was considered bad luck. But to even kill one was forbidden. Locals always avoided it, yet admired it. Archean voodoo witch doctors and shamans often were decorated in their feathers in hopes of contacting the spiritual realm. In truth, dotron were very shy creatures.

DESCRIPTION
Dotron are a very secretive species. Their eyes are green and cat-like. Males are all black in the feathers, including their bare heads and legs. Their manes cover all but the throats of their necks. The tail feathers number up to almost 35, and are close together. Males have blue on their hindlegs in the front, and four arrow-like shapes that point down on their throats. Their feathers are jet black, while the blue patterns are neon blue.

Females are slightly smaller than the males, and are pure white all over (feathers and scales) with green eyes and smaller tail feathers. They also lack the blue on their heads, so as mentioned early, just pure white.

Like the micron, the dotron has two claws instead of one, a mutation that allows it to have five fingers instead of one, similar to those of a bat's wing from Earth. Dotron are much more bipedal than micron.

RANGE
The territory of the dotron is deep within the tropical and temperate forests, even farther up north where it can get cold. During snowy winters up north, females of northern populations use snow to their advantage as their white bodies are perfectly camoflauged. Males, being more exposed, usually seek fallen darn trees or rocks.

FEEDING
Dotron, like the micron, feeds on large invertebrates and small vertebrates.

HABIT
The dotron and micron are related, although neither cannot interbreed. They, like all kryptokopids, have their killing claws hidden in their feathers. Their species name is derived from the Greek term Mavro, meaning black. Their claws are mainly for show and for digging into the trees when climbing. Both speceis can walk upright, but spend most of their time in the trees crawling. And their habits are similar to those of the micron.

REPRODUCTION
The mating ritual is similar to that of the mircon, only the male dotron uses more flight jumps in his choreography, and uses the suns rays to reflect his black irridescense. They mate for life. Regardless of where the populations are located, all dotron breed around winter.

Dotron pairs nest in hallow tree cavities, where they incubate their eggs for 2 months. Both parents care for their 3 hatchlings. Chicks are covered in white fluffy down, and male chicks are easily distinguished from their sisters by blue tail feathers and blue head scales. Female babies are plain white all thruought their bodies, scales and feathers. They stay with their parents for four years.

STATUS
Dotron are supposedly extinct in the wild. Poaching, egg and feather collecting, and habitat destruction have greatly decimated their numbers. They exist only in captivity along with the micron on Entinez, Argo's oxygen rich, fertile moon.
