The Domestic Wyn

Description

After years of selective breeding, they're finally here. Ladies and germs, introducing.....the domestic wyn!!:love:

It was the Archeans who first bred and domesticated the smallest of Argo's dragons. I have kept a few selected wild individuals for my breeding program. And I thought about Any all the while, as dragons are one of our fave topics of interests. And so, this was the result of my planned, hard work. The wyn as you see before you is the same as his original wild counterpart, but with many differences-

The domesticated dragons are slightly smaller in size. Their heads are a bit smaller, and with fewer teeth and a smaller snout horn in the males. Their tails have been reduced; they have lost three to five tail vertabrae. and while their killing claws and green cat-line eyes have remained the same, their color patterns have increased dramatically. And as for their habits, wyns are very dependent on their caretakers, and are pack oriented, instead of just mated pairs.

Their brain size has also been reduced, so while they are still intelligent and quick to learn, they are not as smart as their wild ancestors. They rely solely on human or human-like care for guidance, just like domestic dogs. Also, they come into season more often, and can raise their chicks from different generations, making an extended family like most canids. They're essentially sexually mature pet dragon chicks.

In the past of Argo, it was not uncommon to see stray or lost pets, or even feral individuals or flocks. Domesticated wyns could never survive in the wild, but they could never breed back into the wild originals, and would most likely be killed by the wild dragons. They can, however, breed back into wild populations, but this would not dilute the wild stock; it would only diversity it genetically. In time, nature will selected what is "natural", and so a domestic animal would, in generations time, become truly wild again, in appearence and behavior.

TYPES

Wild- The male and female above are the original wyns. They are completely unaltered in apprearence, even under captive conditions with limited sentient contact. As you can see, males have large heads and large head adn tail feathers, and their bodies are covered with stripes. Females lack stripes,a nd have smaller head and tail feathers, but both genders use their long tails like rudders when in flight. They can be tamed.

Domestic- The domestic wyn comes in an assortment of color morphs and patterns. Unlike their wild counterparts, these wyns are more playful, like puppies. Some indivuals can be solid, piebald, or any endless combination. Even some animals can hatch into the so called "wild" color. This is very similar to captive-bred birds, such as cockatiels and budies from Australia.

Albino- Albinism can occur in both wild and domestic forms,in which a dragon has white feathers, and pink eyes and bare scales, including the legs, tail, and claws.

Melanistic- This is similar to black canids and felids, such as leopards and wolves, in which a dragon has dark gray scales, and black feathers. Their eyes are kept green. It is said that this mutation is much healthier than the albino variety.

Balding- This morph is caused by a special gene that inhibits the formation of both head and tail feathers regardless of gender. This is found only in the domestic wyn.

Comet- The same gene that promotes and demotes the growth in the head and tail feathers gives this morph longer feathers. Only the domestic morph has this.

--------------------------------

I am only sellign them to responsible people who can care for the dragon properly, and wanting an exotic pet. I do, however, have one condition- I absolutely forbid ANYONE to breed them! It is for personal reasons, and there are ways to prevent them from propagating uncontrollably. Having that said, my crew and I will be the dragon's ONLY recommended dragon vets, along with Andy. I will negotiate prices on the chicks, I will not sell adults. Think and talk about it first before you think of purchasing a wyn. They can live a long lifespan, so prepared to be committed.8-)
